ALDRICH, Minn. - An armed man here was taken into custody by the Wadena County Sheriff's Office after a report that he was involved in a domestic disturbance and then walked into a wooded area with a gun on Monday. Authorities responded to a call of a domestic in progress about 8:10 p.m. A caller reported that Mark Wonders, 43, of Aldrich, was armed and had walked into a wooded area.
WADENA, Minn. - The treasurer of the Wadena County Republican Party has been charged with theft for allegedly embezzling from the organization. Party officials approached police on March 11 with inaccuracies in their bank account. A bookkeeping statement provided by Sue Rebischke, 60, of Wadena, whose full name is Linda Sue Rebischke, showed a balance in the account on Dec. 31, 2009 of $4,734.66.
WADENA - A 76-year-old man missing since Monday morning was found safe Wednesday afternoon in a swampy area northeast of here. Wadena Police Chief Bruce Uselman said David Delano Paulson hadn't been seen since he left home at 10:40 a.m. Monday.
WADENA, Minn. - Authorities in Wadena County this week issued a warrant for two-time vice presidential candidate and American Indian activist Winona LaDuke in relation to a traffic stop. According to Wadena County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Bill Cross, LaDuke was pulled over on Nov. 21 and she was cited for not having a current insurance card in her vehicle.
