MINNEAPOLIS — Two teens and an adult male are dead after a shooting Friday inside a Minneapolis apartment building. A fourth victim, an adult woman, has been taken to a Minneapolis hospital with unknown injuries. Minneapolis Police Officer Cory Schmidt police received a call, with gunshots audible in the background, shortly after 7 a.m. at the apartment building near Lake Nokomis in south Minneapolis.
MANKATO - Isaac Kolstad, the former Minnesota State Mankato linebacker who was severely injured in a 2014 bar fight, is suing his attackers and two bars that served them. The civil lawsuit, filed last week, names Philip Nelson and Trevor Shelley, along with Blue Bricks Bar and South Street Saloon. Documents filed in Blue Earth County District Court allege the bars had served Nelson, a former University of Minnesota quarterback who was under the legal drinking age at the time of the assault.
MOORHEAD—Concordia College will allow students who are 21 years old to drink "limited quantities" of alcohol in private living areas on campus, ending a 125-year prohibition for students who can drink legally. The new campus alcohol policy, still being drafted with student input, was approved this summer by the Concordia Board of Regents and will take effect Jan. 1. Drinking by underage students will remain prohibited.
OSAKIS — Westbound Interstate 94 was blocked between Osakis and Alexandria due to a fatal crash early Tuesday. Minnesota Highway Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow confirmed that the crash was fatal. It happened near milepost 112, about three miles west of the Osakis, exit shortly before 6 a.m. One westbound lane has reopened, Grabow posted on his Twitter account around 10:30 a.m. The crash involved a Freightliner semitrailer, a GMC Sierra pickup truck and a Pontiac Grand Prix.

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. - A funeral service for Jacob Wetterling, the boy abducted and killed in 1989, is set for 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. The College of St. Benedict in Jacob Wetterling's hometown of St. Joseph, Minn., will host a memorial service Sunday for the boy who was abducted 27 years ago and whose body was recovered Sept. 2 The Wetterling Family Memorial Service for Jacob will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday. Oct. 22 was proclaimed "Jacob Wetterling Day" in Minnesota Friday by Gov. Mark Dayton. That day will mark the 27th anniversary of Jacob's abduction.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Kevin Garnett’s second run with the Minnesota Timberwolves has ended, the Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting, citing a league source. Garnett, 40, was about to enter the final season of his contract and the team was reportedly working on a buyout recently. He has spent 13½ of his 21 NBA seasons with Minnesota.

FERGUS FALLS — A state grand jury has indicted a Fergus Falls man on first-degree premeditated murder for the death of his father in earlier this year. The indictment, filed Tuesday, Sept. 21, in Otter Tail County District Court, is in addition to a second-degree murder charge against 29-year-old Dustin Michael Defiel, who is accused of fatally shooting his father Ricardo Defiel on June 1. An initial appearance on the new charge is scheduled for Friday.
