HIBBING, Minn. -- A northern Minnesota man with a history of illicitly recording naked and partially unclothed women has admitted that he spied on a Hibbing woman while on probation for his earlier offenses. Kevin James Petroske, 36, pleaded guilty Thursday in State District Court in Hibbing to a felony charge of interference with privacy.
AURORA, Minn. -- A 66-year-old Aurora woman and 26-year-old Eveleth man were killed in separate crashes on Wednesday on the same northern Minnesota highway. Marilyn Louise Kriner died after the car she was driving sideswiped a semi-truck and then was struck broadside on the passenger side by an oncoming SUV on State Highway 135 in Biwabik Township just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
MINNEAPOLIS—The ringleader of a multi-state drug trafficking organization prosecutors say flooded the Red Lake and White Earth reservations with heroin was sentenced Wednesday. Omar Beasley, 39, received a 25-year prison sentence after he was convicted of one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, hydrocodone, and methadone. Thirty-nine other co-defendants have also been or will be sentenced in the case, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

BRAINERD, Minn. -- A child from Crow Wing County in north-central Minnesota has become part of a measles outbreak, the Minnesota Department of Health confirmed Wednesday. An agency spokesperson said one unvaccinated child from Crow Wing County contracted the disease after being exposed to it in a Hennepin County health care facility.
