The University of Minnesota/St. Cloud State University BioScience Focus Group meeting scheduled today at the MinnWest Technology Campus has been canceled due to weather.
Updated 8:50 a.m. Olivia Police Chief Donald Davern died unexpectedly Sunday. Davern's death was announced in a news release early Monday morning by the Olivia Police Department. No further details were released concerning his death. Davern had served 34 years in the Olivia Police Department, first as an officer and then as chief of police. He also was the Olivia Civil Defense Director. He had also served as Renville County Sheriff for four years. The Olivia Police Department has five full-time officers and other part-time staff. Funeral services are pending.
RAYMOND - A woman believed to be in her 40s has been reported missing here Monday morning. Law enforcement is hoping to locate the woman before the winds of the approaching winter storm pick and reduce visibility this afternoon. A relative reported the Raymond woman missing shortly before 10 a.m. Monday morning. Law enforcement and fire department personnel are searching an area northwest of Raymond. One witness reported seeing the woman walking out of town about 8:45 a.m. this morning.

The Brainerd School Board has offered its superintendent position to Brainerd Assistant Superintendent Steve Razidlo, according to a district spokesperson. Waconia Superintendent Jerry Kjergaard was the other finalist considered at Thursday's meeting. The Brainerd board met at 12:30 p.m. Thursday and unanimously voted to offer the district's superintendent position to Razidlo. Kjergaard, one of three finalists in the second round of interviews, is in Willmar today. He will tour the district Thursday. He will meet at 2:30 p.m.

One of three finalists returning for a second interview for the Willmar superintendent position is a finalist scheduled to interview for a second time for the superintendent position with the Brainerd School District. Dr. Jerry Kjergaard of Waconia is a finalist for the Brainerd superintendent position and is currently in Brainerd.
