LITCHFIELD -- Icy roads and strong winds are blamed for a one-vehicle accident around 7:50 p.m. Thursday in Meeker County that injured a 43-year-old woman from Zimmerman. Brenda Stachen was driving a 2004 Nissan Tundra and lost control of it while northbound on Minnesota Highway 15. Her vehicle crashed and rolled over in the east ditch, according to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office. Stachen was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Saint Cloud Hospital.
MINNEAPOLIS - After balmy weather for most of Thanksgiving day, parts of Minnesota are seeing temperatures drop as much as 30 degrees. A KSTP-TV report ( http://bit.ly/QduY55 ) says temperatures that started in the 60s Thursday dipped into the 30s by late afternoon. Rain, sleet and snow have begun falling in parts of the metro. The State Patrol says areas in the northwest, central and west-central parts of the state are seeing slippery spots and blowing snow.
BEMIDJI - A fire Thanksgiving morning caused an estimated $410,000 in damages as crews from around the region spent nearly eight hours battling the blaze at the Birchwood Color Center on the north edge of Bemidji. The fire, reported at 10:49 a.m.

WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office now has a Facebook page, where citizens can get information about the county's most wanted list, the current county jail roster, Nixle text and e-mail announcements and other information about sheriff's office programs. Sheriff Dan Hartog says that information will be posted on Facebook about recent crimes where citizens can help the investigation with information or assistance and about projects like the drug collection "Take It to the Box," Project Lifesaver and ebay listings of forfeited vehicles. The KCSO joined Facebook on Wednesday.
CLARA CITY -- Jesse Tollakson, 29, from Dawson was killed Wednesday in a head-on collision with a semi tanker near Clara City. According to the State Patrol, Tollakson was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup west on state Highway 23 around 4:41 p.m. Wednesday when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound semi head on. The driver of the 2012 Kenworth semi, Michael A. Rost, 37, of Osakis, suffered no apparent injuries.

UPDATE: CLARA CITY -- A 29-year-old man from Dawson was killed Wednesday in a head-on collision near Clara City. The Minnesota State Patrol identified the victim this morning as Jesse Tollakson. According to the State Patrol, Tollakson was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger pickup west on state Highway 23 around 4:41 p.m. yesterday, about three miles east of Clara City, when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck an eastbound semi head-on. The driver of the 2012 Kenworth semi, Michael A. Rost, 37, of Osakis, suffered no apparent injury.
