Jaime Cofer and Cody Thorson, both of Clara City, are engaged to be married Oct. 1 at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar. Cofer is the daughter of Sandy Cofer of Willmar and the late Joel Cofer. She is a 2006 graduate of Willmar Senior High School and a 2008 graduate of Ridgewater College with a degree in legal administrative assistant.
Aimee Lang of Willmar and Dale Clemens of Noonan, N.D, were united in marriage June 18 at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar. The bride is the daughter of Benjamin and Debra Lang of Willmar. The groom is the son of Marietta Clemens of Crosby, N.D. Maid of honor was Melanie Lang, sister of bride. Bride's attendants were Kelsey Rooda, Mandy Frickel, Kayla Torgerson and Erica Torkelson, friends of bride. Flower girls were Katie Jo Townsend and Emma Clemens, nieces of groom. Best man was Doug Clemens, brother of groom.

KENSINGTON, Minn. - A driver of a semitrailer suffered serious injuries in a crash with a train west of here this afternoon. The crash happened on the Canadian Pacific railroad tracks and state Highway 55 in Douglas County just east of the border with Grant County. Both Grant and Douglas County sheriff's offices and the State Patrol responded to the scene.
WILLMAR -- United Way of West Central Minnesota will host its annual Week of Action Aug. 24-28. The Week of Action gives businesses and organizations a chance to volunteer on service projects that help meet a community need. Sponsors of the Week of Action are Bremer Bank, Cash Wise Foods and Hansen Advertising. Community volunteer days will be Aug. 24 in the Benson area, Aug. 25 in the Clara City area, Aug. 26 in the Olivia, Bird Island and Renville area, Aug. 27 in the Litchfield area, and Aug.
The Willmar Cardinals tennis team is scheduled to open the season today in a non-conference match at New London-Spicer. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. There are six prep baseball games, six prep softball games and two golf meets scheduled in the area as well, barring wet grounds or inclement weather.

She graduated from Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg High School in Kerkhoven in 2002 and from Concordia College in Moorhead in 2006 with degrees in psychology and religion. Dealy is the daughter of Brenda and Frazer Dealy of Houston. She graduated from Stratford High School in Houston in 1998 and from Princeton University in Princeton, N.J., in 2002 with a degree in sociology. She graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., in 2007 with a master's degree in public policy. She is employed as a professional staff member of the Armed Services Committee in the U.S.
