KENSINGTON, Minn. - A driver of a semitrailer suffered serious injuries in a crash with a train west of here this afternoon. The crash happened on the Canadian Pacific railroad tracks and state Highway 55 in Douglas County just east of the border with Grant County. Both Grant and Douglas County sheriff's offices and the State Patrol responded to the scene.
WILLMAR -- United Way of West Central Minnesota will host its annual Week of Action Aug. 24-28. The Week of Action gives businesses and organizations a chance to volunteer on service projects that help meet a community need. The Willmar Cardinals tennis team is scheduled to open the season today in a non-conference match at New London-Spicer. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. There are six prep baseball games, six prep softball games and two golf meets scheduled in the area as well, barring wet grounds or inclement weather.
