Vehicle complaint WILLMAR — Around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, a woman reported seeing a tan vehicle swerving all over the road near the intersection of Willmar Avenue Southwest and First Street South. Police stopped the suspect vehicle, and discovered that the driver had been rapidly sneezing at one point while he was driving. The driver was advised of the complaint. Harassment
WATSON — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will host an informational meeting and question-and-answer session to discuss Governor Mark Dayton's proposed increases to hunting and fishing license fees. The meeting will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Lac qui Parle DNR Area Headquarters located at 14047 20th Street N.W., approximately 6 miles from Watson. Directions are: one-half mile north of Watson on U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 7, then west on Chippewa County Road 13, north on 140th Ave. NW, and west on 20th Street NW to the headquarters.
ST PAUL — The Minnesota Department of Transportation adjusted requirements and extended the permit application deadline for people who want to mow and bale hay on any state highway right-of-way that is adjacent to their land. The adjustments were made in response to concerns MnDOT heard last fall when the agency adopted a statewide standard for mowing and baling in state highway right-of-way.

LITCHFIELD — A Hutchinson man has died from injuries sustained last Saturday in a one-vehicle crash south of Litchfield. Jeffrey Michael Conklin died Tuesday morning at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. He was 31. Conklin had been airlifted to the medical center with life-threatening injuries following the 8:20 p.m. Saturday crash on 190th Street in Greenleaf Township.
FOLEY – A mother of three was killed and four others were injured in a head-on crash Tuesday night near Foley after the driver of another vehicle crossed the centerline.

Atwater man injured in Highway 12 crash WILLMAR — A truck crashed broadside into a semi Tuesday on U.S. Highway 12 in Willmar, sending a 40-year-old Atwater man to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. According to the State Patrol, around 11:20 a.m., the semi exited onto Highway 12 from North U.S. Highway 71. It stopped at the stop sign, but pulled onto Highway 12 in front of a 2004 Chevy Silverado, which had been traveling west on Highway 12. The Chevy crashed into the semi, a 1996 Peterbilt.
