This is the records summary for July 26. Fire destroys home in Franklin FRANKLIN — A Renville County family is homeless after a fire destroyed their mobile home Monday. The fire was reported at 5:56 p.m. when the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a house on fire on the 41000 block of 660th Avenue, which is about three miles northeast of Franklin. The caller reported seeing flames coming out of the kitchen and said that both occupants were outside.
SHAKOPEE — Heidie Sloot has been named the district field manager for west central Minnesota by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association. Sloot's district includes the counties of Chippewa, Douglas, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Otter Tail, Grant, Pope, Renville, Stearns, Stevens, Swift, Todd and Traverse. As a field manager, Sloot continue the association's grassroots outreach to farmers, along with increasing support of the Minnesota Corn Research & Promotion Council, which manages the state's corn check-off.

Two injured in Wabasha County crash ZUMBRO FALLS — Individuals from Kandiyohi and Cosmos were injured in a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in Zumbro Falls in Wabasha County. According to the State Patrol, a 2008 Subaru Impreza driven by Taylor Charles Alsleben, 20, of Cosmos, was going west on Highway 60 and attempted to cross Highway 63 when it was struck by a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan that had the right of way.

WILLMAR — A 60-year old male from Carthage, Missouri, has died after he was injured on a construction site job Friday afternoon near the Kandi Mall in Willmar, according to Willmar Police Chief Jim Felt. Felt reported the death Saturday morning. The Willmar Police Department and Willmar Ambulance were called to the construction site on the west side of Kandi Mall about 12:45 p.m. Friday after a report of a worker being injured.
