LITCHFIELD — Ground search efforts have been called off today after a 32-year-old Meeker County man who has been missing since Friday night made brief contact with family by phone during the overnight hours. John Rassat, who also goes by the name J.D., is still missing as his whereabouts and well-being remain unknown, and law enforcement remains concerned for his safety, said Sheriff Brian Cruze in a news release. Anyone with information about Rassat should call the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.
BENSON — "The Living Last Supper" will be presented at 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, 800 10th St. S., in Benson. "The Living Last Supper," a dramatic musical experience for Holy Week, was written by Ruth Elaine Schram. The directors of the drama are Duaine Flanders and Paul Kittelson. The choir, which also features voices from area churches, is under the direction of Jan Goff. The accompanist is Candyce Sowers, flutist is Sarah Skarsten and violinist is Jordan Paulson. Servant girls are Jessica Young and Morgan Schmidt.
WILLMAR — A jury has convicted a Willmar man of three felony counts of criminal sexual conduct for repeatedly sexually abusing a child for more than five years. Court documents show Gilberto Guzman Diaz, 38, was found guilty Thursday, following a two-day trial, on each of the three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree. Sentencing is set for May 8. Guzman Diaz was initially charged Oct. 28 in Kandiyohi County District Court.

Reward offered in chapel vandalism SUNBURG — A $1,000 reward is being offered for information about two recent incidents of vandalism that occurred at a small roadside chapel that overlooks Games Lake in northwestern Kandiyohi County. The reward is being offered by the family that owns Cedar Crest Chapel — which is perched on a hill along state Highway 9 — after vandalism to the property was reported Friday. Large windows were broken and lights were ripped out.
PAYNESVILLE — A Hawick woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident Thursday night on state Highway 23 and County Road 33 near Paynesville. According to the State Patrol, at around 7:30 p.m. Betty-Jane Povilatis, 36, was driving a 2013 Chevy Equinox west on state Highway 23 when she was blinded by the setting sun and ran off the road. She was taken to the Paynesville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

CLARKFIELD — A man was killed and a woman was injured in a one-car rollover accident early Wednesday morning in Yellow Medicine County. According to the State Patrol, the accident happened around 2:34 a.m. on U.S. Highway 59 south of Clarkfield when a northbound 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Byron Dean Iverson, 54, of Marshall, left the roadway and vaulted over a driveway. The Jeep then rolled and came to a rest on it's roof.

Crash LITCHFIELD — Rosaline Ratike, 82, of Litchfield, was injured in a car crash at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Precision Drive in Litchfield. According to the State Patrol report, the accident occurred when the Ford F-150 truck, driven by Ratike, stopped at the stop sign while traveling north on Precision Drive, but failed to yield to a westbound semi-truck and was hit while crossing Highway 12. The semi was driven by Steven Holthaus, 58, of Albany.
