A long-time Willmar business will break ground for a new building Friday. R&J Tours, currently located off Highway 71 near Robbins Island Park, will be located at 1408 Willmar Ave. SE, in between the former Old Home Bakery Store and Independence Place. "We've outgrown our space," owner Ralph Engel said. "We sold this building and are building a new building that will have plenty of space for us plus additional area to lease."
WILLMAR - The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday for its regular business meeting. Items on the agenda include awarding constructions bids for road projects and action on a natural resource block grant extension, supplemental water safety grant and funding request for GIS flyover and crop program indexing. WILLMAR -- Two public hearings are scheduled when the Willmar City Council meets in regular session tonight, one related to financing part of the ongoing sewer improvement work in the city and the other for financing the annual street improvement program. A public hearing is scheduled at 7:02 p.m. regarding the issuance of general obligation sewer revenue note to borrow money for the western interceptor project. The proposed ordinance states the amount borrowed would not exceed $1.89 million.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The New London-Spicer robotics team was one of three teams earning second place Saturday in the Minnesota State Robotics Finals at Williams Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota. RAYMOND — Kandiyohi County Road 7 in Raymond is now open to traffic. The county road had been closed daily since Wednesday morning for repairs to the railroad crossing.
