Suspicious van ATWATER—Around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, a man told the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office that a woman in a blue Dodge Caravan had pulled up to a dock on Tadd Lake in Atwater and proceeded to take pictures of his son and nephew while they were fishing. His son and nephew reportedly began to feel uncomfortable, so they left.

WILLMAR—What appears to be a severe blue-green algae bloom was reported Wednesday occurring on the west side of Diamond Lake in Kandiyohi County, according to a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency spokesperson. Recent high temperatures coupled with rainfall rashing excess nutrients into the water may be combining to create harmful blue-green algae in lakes. This type of algae can harm pets, livestock and even people, according to the MPCA.
