SAUK CENTRE—A 19-year-old Murdock man was injured early Thursday morning in a crash on Interstate 94.
WILLMAR — For the past 22 years, the Warm the Children program administered by the West Central Tribune has helped to provide warm winter clothing to thousands of children across the region. This year's program, however, will be the last. Due to a number of changes over recent years, program organizers have discussed and agonized over these factors, wondering how long the program could continue as it has been. This year, a number of factors entered into the equation, making it clear this would be the final year.
WILLMAR — Jennifer Johnson has been promoted to manager of basic processing/raw materials at Jennie-O Turkey Store in Willmar. Johnson has worked for Jennie-O since 2008. She started as an intern with the general revenue and accounting team. Johnson has served as staff accountant, breeder/hatchery accountant and the revenue finance analyst for the retail sales team. A University of North Dakota graduate, Johnson has a bachelor's degree in accounting.
WILLMAR — Nikki Wenderski has been promoted to revenue finance analyst - retail at Jennie-O Turkey Store in Willmar. She previously held the position of cost accountant - breeder and hatchery, along with completing an internship in 2013. In her new position she will be reporting on activities in the retail finance area, along with assisting with planning, reforecasting and providing financial analysis of financial reports. Wenderski is a graduate of St. Cloud State University and serves as campus ambassador for Jennie-O at St. Cloud State University.
WILLMAR — Kandi Dental Center, located in the Kandi Mall, is now welcoming the patients of Dr. Harlan Anderson, who is retiring. Kandi Dental is owned by Dr. Nicholas Marcus. Anderson will be practicing at Kandi Dental Center one day a week starting in January to help ease the transition. Marcus, a Willmar native, has been practicing dentistry since 2007. He competed three years in the Air Force as a dentist before returning to Willmar to start his own family-oriented practice.
WILLMAR — Interior Design Studio owner Mary Weimerskirch, along with designers Jayne Engelmann and Katie Morgan, attended the international home furnishings market Oct. 22-26 in High Point, North Carolina. The market included lines by HGTV star Joanna Gaines, Donny Osmond and Paula Deen. The trio also visited showrooms that showed new colors and trends in the home accessories industry.
OLIVIA — Sharon Chandler has joined the United FCS office in Olivia as a tax assistant. She will be providing clerical support to the tax team along with front-line customer service. Chandler has over 15 years experience in finance and accounting. She has just recently retired from her full-time career and will work with United FCS during the tax season.
LITCHFIELD — The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has named Custom Products of Litchfield a Pillar of the Industry, bestowing the award at the annual conference Nov. 16-18 in Santa Barbara, California.
BLOOMINGTON — Kevin Christoffers, a Farm Bureau Financial Services agent, was recognized by the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation as a member of the Elite Builders Club. The recognition took place during the Farm Bureau's annual meeting Nov. 17-19 in Bloomington. Christoffers has signed 62 new members this year. His offices are located in Dakota, Kandiyohi and Meeker counties.
