WILLMAR — The detour of state Highway 4 through the city of Hector ends Thursday. Detour signs will be removed and the road will be opened to traffic. The city of Hector began a project Aug. 18 which detoured motorists between the junction of Highway 4 and Douglass Avenue to the junction of Highway 4 and Birch Avenue. The project included storm sewer and sanitary sewer work, a water main replacement and the construction of sidewalk and pedestrian ramps to meet standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
MONTEVIDEO—A Dawson teenager and a Montevideo man were injured Tuesday night following a broadside crash on State Highway 7 in Montevideo. The State Patrol identified the man as 55-year-old Jayme S. Lynne. The Patrol detected alcohol in Lynne, and said it was a factor in the crash. The names of the teen driver and his teen passenger have been withheld, pending the completion of the crash investigation and potential charges. At 8 p.m. Tuesday, the teen was driving a GMC Jimmy SUV west on Highway 7.

WILLMAR — Abdirisack Ali has joined the Jennie-O Turkey Store as a production supervisor trainee. Ali is a graduate of San Diego City College, where he earned an associate degree in social and behavioral sciences. He also worked with the California Conservation Corps, fighting wildfires and leading a landscaping crew to protect the environment.
