According to the State Patrol, a 1999 Dodge Caravan driven by Sarah Lynette Fernandez, 41, of Willmar, was traveling east on Interstate 694 when it sideswiped a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Neil Stanley Burch, 71, of Brooklyn Park, on the ramp that heads north on Highway 252.

WILLMAR — The drainage authority for Joint County Ditch No. 3 Kandiyohi and Chippewa counties Laterals C and D will meet at 1 p.m. March 31 in the board room at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building in Willmar. The purpose of the meeting is to review a utility permit application submitted by Meadowstar Dairy of rural Pennock to install an underground manure pipeline. The proposed pipeline will cross areas of open ditch and tile lines of Joint Ditch No. 3 KC Laterals C and D.
WILLMAR — A forum on issues affecting farmers and rural communities will be held Thursday morning at the American Legion in Willmar. Key topics expected to be discussed are health insurance, buffer rules, property taxes, ditch mowing regulations and commodity prices, according to a news release. Crash SUNBURG — At around 9 a.m. Friday, a Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Deputy discovered a vehicle stuck in a ditch near the 23300 block of Kandi-Swift Line Road Northwest in Sunburg. A few yards away, he found a 53-year-old Sunburg man, covered in mud, wandering around a field. The man told the deputy he had been there for a few hours, and had walked away from his vehicle after it got stuck in the ditch. He was transported to Rice Hospital with signs of hypothermia.
