OLIVIA—Area residents are invited to attend one of two workshops Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss opportunities to expand outdoor recreation and conserve natural and cultural resources in the Minnesota River Valley area within Redwood and Renville counties. The first workshop will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Renville County Government Services Center, Room 116/117, 105 S. Fifth St., Olivia. The second will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Redwood Area Community Center, 901 E. Cook St, Redwood Falls.
WILLMAR—WORKUP, which provides office space and other business amenities to freelancers, entrepreneurs and remote workers on the MinnWest Technology Campus, is hosting its second annual "A Taste of WORKUP" event Friday, Sept. 30, at the MinnWest Technology Campus in Willmar. The all-day event starts at 8 a.m. with free co-working, light breakfast, unlimited gourmet coffee and a free yoga class.
WILLMAR—Enhanced Resource Centers, a business process outsourcing business, will be opening a call center in Willmar. The company plans to hire over 200 for professional jobs at the new location. The business is moving into the former Kandiyohi Power building at 1311 North Highway 71. Enhanced Resource Centers provides businesses recovery, outsourcing, market research and other services. The jobs in Willmar will will focus on customer service and collections. The headquarters are in Jacksonville, Florida, with five other locations.
WILLMAR—Following the flood of Aug. 10 and 11, many residents applied for building permits to repair and replace what was damaged. After the floods there were 13 gas furnace and five air conditioning replacement permits approved. There were also 12 building permits approved to specifically repair flood damage.
