WILLMAR -- A teen driver was reportedly stopped on State Highway 23 on Tuesday night by a man posing as a law enforcement officer, authorities say. The man, driving a sedan-like vehicle with red and blue lights in the grill, reportedly told the girl he had stopped her vehicle after seeing her New London-Spicer High School parking permit "because of homecoming activities and pranks." He then searched her vehicle, according to a news release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office. The man did not take anything.
Suspicious voices BELGRADE — Around 11 a.m. Tuesday, a man on the 28700 block of 44th St. N.E. in Belgrade reported hearing voices in his home around 8 p.m. three days prior. He named a man and woman he believed he heard. However, according to a report from a Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputy, the man the complainant named had been dead for several years. ST. CLOUD -- The Stearns County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing girl in the Willmar area. Alexis Marie Odenbreit, 17, has been missing since Sept. 12, according to a Monday news release. Odenbreit was last seen in Willmar. Authorities believe she could be in surroundings that endanger her health, safety or welfare.
WILLMAR—Franklin Sumargo has been named the associate food scientist for Jennie-O Turkey Store's corporate office research and development department. A graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a master's in food science and technology, Sumargo will be working with the research and development food safety team and working on salmonella reduction projects, along with thermal processing work in ready-to-eat products.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a 2014 Ford Explorer driven by Gerald W. Mulder, 68, of Renville had slowed to make a turn and was struck from behind by a 2011 Chevy Silverado driven by Carl J. Janachovsky, 27, of Wood Lake. Mulder and a passenger in his vehicle, 69-year-old Connie M. Mulder of Renville, were both injured.
WILLMAR -- One of the nine victims in a stabbing attack Saturday night at the Crossroads Center in St. Cloud is from Willmar, officials said Sunday. At a news conference Sunday, St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis released a list of the victims. They included a 24-year-old man from Willmar. No names were provided. Kleis said three people remained hospitalized at St. Cloud Hospital as of 7 a.m. Sunday. The other five were treated and released, according to a St. Cloud Hospital spokesperson.
