LITCHFIELD -- Litchfield and Watkins were among the hardest hit areas Monday when storms produced at least four tornadoes across central Minnesota. National Weather Service teams were deployed to the two cities and determined each tornado was EF-2, or significant, in strength. The Weather Service said teams also visited locations in Cold Spring, Rockville and Waite Park.
This is the records summary for July 13. Theft BELGRADE -- A shed was broken into and numerous items were stolen and others damaged, the owner told the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office. Reported taken from the shed were snowmobiles, engines, deer stands, decoys, steel and lumber. A variety of other items were wrecked.

Suspicious person reports WILLMAR -- Police received at least two suspicious person reports late Sunday night and early Monday morning related to the smartphone game “Pokemon Go.” Just before 9 p.m. Sunday an individual reported to police that a man had been walking through yards while looking at his phone. The caller believed it was suspicious and said it looked like the man was trying to look for something.

Updated: 7:12 p.m. Officers with the Willmar Police Department responded to the scene of a crash Monday at the Willmar Municipal Utilities building on Litchfield Avenue Southwest. No ambulance was called for the crash, which happened just before 5 p.m. That indicates there were no injuries, Willmar Police Sgt. Chad Oakleaf said Monday evening. "It looks like it was just strictly a property damage accident," Oakleaf said. He said only one vehicle was listed on the incident report.
