Search warrant WILLMAR — Two people were arrested Thursday morning after law enforcement executed a search warrant at 5:36 a.m. in the 200 block of Augusta Avenue Southeast. Two men, ages 22 and 23, were arrested during the search. They have not been formally charged or appeared in court yet. Numerous officers from the Willmar Police Department, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office and the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force participated in the operation. Theft

No-knock search warrant WILLMAR — Three people were arrested Wednesday morning after more than a dozen law enforcement officers executed a no-knock search warrant in the 100 block of Gay Street Southeast in Willmar. A 34-year-old man, a 25-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were arrested. They have not yet been formally charged. Officers involved in the effort were from the Willmar Police Department, Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office and the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force.
BENSON — Starting on July 17, motorists will find intermittent lane closures and delays on state Highway 9, U.S. Highway 12 and state Highway 29 in Benson as crews mill and pave the highways. Preparatory work may begin before Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said in a news release. When work begins, flaggers will direct traffic around the work zones. Vandalism WILLMAR — A caller reported at 5:22 p.m. Monday that someone had shot their picture window with a BB gun at the 1500 block of Monongalia Avenue in Willmar. Photos were taken of the damage. Assault WILLMAR — Emergency room staff at Rice Memorial Hospital reported a possible assault which took place around 7:30 p.m. Monday. The injured party said he was hit by a beer bottle somewhere on Ella Avenue.
ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Eighth Judicial District will have an open judgeship, chambered in Willmar, when Judge Donald M. Spilseth retires this fall. The Commission on Judicial Selection announced Monday that applications are open. The commission will consider integrity, maturity, health (if job-related), judicial temperament, legal knowledge, ability, experience and community service.
LITCHFIELD — The Trifac Workers Compensation Fund has elected Randy Reinke as its chairman. Reinke is the president and CEO of Custom Products in Litchfield. Trifac is a self-insurance program for Minnesota manufacturers that meet certain criteria from the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Trifac members have added control over workers compensations claims, see a reduction in payments of false claims, lower premiums and loss control consultation.

Park complaint WILLMAR — Police were called out twice Sunday to Miller Park in Willmar due to reports of kids messing around with the picnic tables near the park shelter. At 7:10 p.m. an officer went to the park after a caller reported kids stacking up tables to climb on the roof of the shelter. The officer reported the kids began tearing down the stack when he arrived, and that he advised the children of the complaint.

The incident allegedly took place at the 800 block of Willmar Avenue Southeast. The person who reported the incident said a male beat the individual up and stole $100.
