The crash was reported at 10:19 p.m. at the intersection of Stearns County Road 35 and 440th Street. According to the Stearns County Sheriff's Department, Gerald Willard Sandstrom, 70, of Benson, was driving a Ford Mustang on 440th Street, had stopped at a stop sign and then turned to go south on County Road 35.
