"This acquisition strengthens our position in core markets and will allow us to expand our transportation and logistics services to create additional value for our owners and customers," said Patrick Hessini, CHS vice president, transportation and distribution, in a news release announcing the acquisition Thursday. CHS is North America's leading farmer-owned cooperative and a global energy, grains and foods company.
WILLMAR — The children's theater division of The Barn Theatre will present "Dogs! A Tail-Wagging Musical" at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday at theatre in downtown Willmar. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available at The Barn ticket office, by calling 320-235-9500 or online at The Barn Theatre. The hour-long, tail-wagging children's musical is about everybody's best friend.
SPICER — A series of "meet and greets" will be held over the next three weeks for residents and businesses within the proposed service zone of a broadband project by Consolidated Telecommunications Co. The meetings are scheduled for this coming Monday; Thursday, March 23; and April 4. All three will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Dethlefs Senior Center in Spicer. The sessions will be an opportunity for residents to meet representatives of Consolidated Telecommunications Co., ask questions and sign up for future broadband services.
RENVILLE — A 53-year-old man was airlifted Wednesday after a crash at 840th Avenue and 240th Street, just north of Renville. Joey Ross, of Renville, was transported to North Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Renville County Sheriff’s Office. Ross was in stable condition Wednesday evening, the Sheriff’s Office said.

WILLMAR — The funeral for Jared P. Anez, 45, of Willmar, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar. Anez, a Willmar area businessman and chairman of the Willmar School Board, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church, with a time of sharing at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Willmar. Anez was president of Anez Consulting Inc. of Willmar, a family-owned business he began in 1997.
WILLMAR — Township meetings and elections were conducted Tuesday in Minnesota where residents approved tax levies and elected officers to their local boards. The West Central Tribune publishes results as provided by township representatives. The following results from townships in Kandiyohi County had been reported to the Tribune by press deadline Wednesday. Arctander Township Howard Pierce was re-elected supervisor and Carol Welker was elected treasurer.
This is the records summary for March 15. Domestic WILLMAR — At 11:15 p.m. Monday, a possible domestic assault was reported from the 100 block of Trott Avenue Southeast in Willmar. The Willmar Police Department arrived to the scene and arrested a 35-year-old man. Possible theft
