WILLMAR — A section of Kandiyohi County Road 92 will be closed for several hours Monday while construction crews install a culvert. The Kandiyohi County Public Works Department office in Willmar said the culvert is being installed a quarter of a mile west of County Road 5, approximately two miles northwest of Willmar. The road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
WILLMAR — The U.S. Highway 71 detour from Blomkest to Olivia will be removed and the road opened to traffic Monday. According to a news release from the state Department of Transportation, the concrete repair project from Blomkest to Olivia began Sept. 15. Updated: 5:48 p.m. 911 services are fully functioning again in Kandiyohi and Meeker Counties. Services in Meeker County were restored around 5:40 p.m., according to an email from a Meeker County dispatcher. Kandiyohi County's services were restored around the same time. Residents received notice around 5:47 p.m. via text messages and emails through the electronic citizen's alert system. The reason for the outage still is not known, Meeker County Dispatcher Suzi Holtz said via email.

GREENLEAF TOWNSHIP -- A 69-year-old Hutchinson man sustained internal injuries Friday from a rollover all-terrain vehicle crash near the Greenleaf State Wildlife Management Area. Lawrence Krebs was airlifted from the scene to the St. Cloud Hospital, according to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office. Just before 3:15 p.m. Friday, Krebs had been working on his deer stand in a wooded area southeast of the intersection of Meeker County Roads 18 and 35. When he left the area on his ATV, he rolled the vehicle in an embankment, where it rolled on top of him.

IRVING TOWNSHIP—An early-morning, one-vehicle rollover crash Friday in eastern Kandiyohi County injured the vehicle's only occupant. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office says Cayla Korsmo, 33, of Sauk Rapids, sustained minor injuries in the crash. She was transported by a passerby to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Korsmo had been driving a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer southbound on Kandiyohi County Road 2 around 6:30 a.m. Near the intersection with 165th Avenue Northeast, the Trailblazer left the road, rolling several times.
