The KRA Speedway Fall Festival Triple Headers starts today with racing at 6 p.m. Racing is also at 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday at the fairground's track in Willmar. The classes are the same as the regular season: Modified, Super Stock, Midwest Mod, Mod 4, Street Stock and Hobby Stock. The Fall Festival ran two nights in past years.
Kassi Maurice, freshman setter from Ridgewater College and Renville County West, led the Lady Warriors to a 4-2 record for the week. Maurice, playing in a 6-2 offense, had 82 sets assists and was 73-for-76 serving with nine aces.

WILLMAR -- Everyone got involved Wednesday as Ridgewater College drilled Anoka-Ramsey 30-23, 30-17, 30-21 in a Minnesota Community College Conference Central Division volleyball match. Twelve players registered attacks and 11 had at least one kill. Twelve players also had at least one dig. Coach Val Swanson is carrying a full roster of 16 players this year.
FERGUS FALLS -- Fergus Falls ended Willmar's seven-match winning streak in a big way Tuesday, thumping the Cardinals 7-1 in a Central Lakes Conference boys soccer match. The Cardinals' winning streak -- longest in the program's history -- was built on defense. Except for the 5-2 loss to Mankato East Aug. 27, no team had scored more than one goal on keeper Danny King. But the Otters peppered the Willmar cage with 26 shots.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Now that he's been through the experience of playing a "home" game on the road, and came away a loser, New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett is furious about it all. Back at the team's temporary home in San Antonio, Haslett said Tuesday the Saints were at a competitive disadvantage in their 27-10 loss to the New York Giants at Giants Stadium on Monday night -- even if they were wearing their home jerseys and saw their nickname painted in one of the end zones. "They could have done that anywhere," Haslett said. "They could have played that game in Baton Rouge.
The Ridgewater volleyball team hosts Anoka-Ramsey today at 6:30 p.m. to open the MCCC Southern Division schedule. The Lady Warriors, coming off a fourth-place finish in their own tournament this past weekend, have a record of 14-5.
Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, BOLD and Litchfield are ranked in the latest Associated Press high school football poll released Tuesday. ACGC (3-0) owns the highest ranking, coming in fourth in Class AA, where BOLD (2-1) is ninth. Litchfield (3-0), averaging nearly 38 points a game, is sixth in Class AAA.
