Omissions and Corrections: Kenneth E. Danielson Kenneth E. Danielson, 79, of Willmar, was first elected Register of Deeds in 1967. The date was incorrect in the obituary published Aug. 15.
Kenneth E. Danielson June 2, 1929 - Aug. 13, 2008 WILLMAR -- Kenneth E. Danielson, 79, of Willmar, died Wednesday at his home following an extended illness. The service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Covenant Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 167. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. He was born June 2, 1929, in Willmar to William E. "Bill" and Anna (Olson) Danielson.
Connie J. Sweere June 22, 1955 - Aug. 13, 2008 SPICER -- Connie Jean Sweere, 53, of Spicer died unexpectedly Wednesday at her home in Spicer. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cross Roads Community United Methodist Church near Spicer. Burial will be in Lake Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church and for one hour prior to the service Saturday. Arrangements are by Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer. She was born June 22, 1955, in Wadena to Lorraine Katherine (Tetrault) and Lyle Norton Grow.
Joseph Murphy Sr. Sept. 29, 1912 - Aug. 12, 2008 APPLETON -- Joseph Murphy Sr., 95, of Appleton, died Tuesday at Appleton Area Health Services-Nursing Home. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Appleton. Burial will be at the Appleton City Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton. He was born Sept. 29, 1912, in St. Paul. At the age of 9, he went to live with the Andrew and Clorinda Murphy family on a farm near St. Cloud.
Helen M. Geer July 9, 1935 - Aug. 12, 2008 NEW LONDON -- Helen Marie Geer, 73, of New London, died Tuesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery in rural New London. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church. She was born July 9, 1935, in Lake Andrew Township to Christian and Lena (Swenson) Korsmo.
Lorraine E. Anderson Oct. 10, 1922 - Aug. 13, 2008 MORRIS -- Lorraine Eleanor Anderson, 85, of Morris died Wednesday at West Wind Village in Morris. The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the service Saturday. She was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Donnelly to Emil and Laura (Christofferson) Aw-sumb. She married Manly Anderson on July 5, 1941. They lived on a farm in the Morris area and later moved to the Donnelly area. They farmed there until Manly's death in 1986.
Gaylyn O. Wigen Nov. 13, 1947 - Aug. 10, 2008 HUTCHINSON -- Gaylyn Odean Wigen, 60, of Hutchinson died Sunday at Hutchinson Area Health Care. The service will be at noon today at Lake Jennie Covenant Church in rural Dassel. Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Arrangements are by Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Mora to Maynard and Helen (Brandt) Wigen. The family moved to rural Litchfield where he attended country school. After his father's death, they moved into Litchfield.
Evelyn Forbord Dec. 13, 1920 - Aug. 11, 2008 BENSON -- Evelyn Forbord, 87, of Benson, died Monday at Homestead Place in Murdock. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Burial will be in Benson City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. She was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Cashel Township, Swift County, to Andrew and Kristine (Bergset) Olson.
Kenneth D. Mix March 11, 1918 - Aug. 10, 2008 GLENWOOD -- Kenneth Darl Mix, 90, of Glenwood died Sunday at Knute Nelson in Alexandria. The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood United Parish in Glenwood. Burial will be in West Scandia Cemetery, rural Cyrus. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are by Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. He was born March 11, 1918, in Jackson to Glen and Ina (Jimmerly) Mix. He graduated from the eighth grade in Jackson. He married Eithlyn Loise Poelaert in May 1938 at Jackson.
Lillian I. Douglas July 23, 1915 - Aug. 10, 2008 BENSON -- Lillian Irene Douglas, 93, of Benson, died Sunday at the Golden Living Care Center in Benson. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Burial will be in Benson City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are by Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. She was born July 23, 1915, in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, to Carl Oscar and Minnie (Frederick) Bagstad.
