WILLMAR — A survey of internet services in three Kandiyohi County townships is designed to gauge residents’ current internet availability and the desire for improved connectivity through high-speed broadband service.
Residents in Dovre, Mamre and St. Johns townships were sent a letter this month informing them of the upcoming survey, which was initiated by the Kandiyohi County and City of Willmar Economic Development Commission and is being conducted by Compass Consultants.
The Broadband and Advanced Technology Committee of the EDC teamed up with the three townships in an effort to explore steps to maximize internet offerings in that region, according to the letter.
“We will only know if deploying better, and even perhaps the best connectivity options available for your area are feasible, if we can get your feedback,” the letter said.
Residents will receive the survey in the mail and can complete the survey questions either electronically or through the mail.
The EDC is asking that the surveys be completed and returned by Dec. 1.
