WILLMAR — Due to the rising concerns of the delta variant of COVID-19, the West Central Tribune has decided to again postpone its Life Connections event. It had been rescheduled to Sept. 16 and 17.

The annual event that features exhibits, entertainment and seminars for mature adults is traditionally held in April. It was postponed in April 2020 due to the pandemic and rescheduled this year as a fall event.

The West Central Tribune has begun making plans to have the event again in April 2022.

"While this decision was not made lightly, it was made in an effort to keep our community safe," said Publisher Steve Ammermann. "The top priority is the health and safety of our attendees, staff, vendors, entertainers and speakers. This event takes place completely indoors. We did consider requiring proof of vaccination and the wearing of masks, but this would have been difficult to manage and enforce."

Everyone at the West Central Tribune was looking forward to the opportunity to reconnect with readers and advertisers and see people face-to-face, Ammermann added.

"The hope was to return to some normalcy and engage with the community. However, your health and well-being come first."
