Aimed at providing farm safety messages and reminders with the agricultural community, the two-minute video features advice on roadway safety and includes information about pre-trip inspections, equipment for roadway safety and safe driving habits.
It’s available online at www.z.umn.edu/AgRoadwaySafetyVideo.
The series includes a total of five videos that are being done in partnership with American Family Insurance and the University of Minnesota Farm Safety and Health Team.
A new video will be added every one to two months, said Emily Krekelberg, Extension Educator for Farm Safety and Health, who is overseeing this new project.
The next video about livestock safety will be available in May or June, she said.
Each video includes a mix of information, demonstration and discussion and is less than five minutes long, making it easy to use for youth, farmers, agriculturalists and health professionals, Krekelberg said.
“This is a great opportunity for us to share safety and health messages more widely,” she said. “Especially right now, when we are coming up on the busy spring planting season and are unable to do safety training face-to-face.”
