RENVILLE — The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development has given the city of Renville $49,435 in grant funds to help with redevelopment of a 1.3-acre site along U.S. Highway 212.
The funds from the Redevelopment Grant and Demolition Loan Program will be used for asbestos abatement, demolition and sidewalk replacement.
The site previously had a gas station and residential house on it. The plan is to construct a 5,000-square-foot, county-owned medical clinic on the property. The project is expected to create four jobs, as well as retain five jobs.
The city will be providing matching funds for the project.
