Rice Home Medical hires Wicklund

WILLMAR -- Rice Home Medical LLC has hired Scott Wicklund as billing and quality assurance supervisor at the Willmar location. Rice Home Medical is a medical equipment company that sells and rents equipment and supplies for the home.

Wicklund is married and has two children. His experience is predominately in purchasing and operations management. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and Metro State University.

Ridler's Martial Arts moves to Kandi Mall

WILLMAR -- Ridler's Martial Arts announces the gym has moved from Skylark Center where the gym had been located for the past five years to the former Hardees building at the Kandi Mall in Willmar. Ridler said he was looking for a new location and said the Kandi Mall was fantastic to work with.

Hindermann joins Hair We Are

WILLMAR -- Amber Hindermann of Renville has joined Hair We Are as a hair stylist and manicurist. The shop is located at 2404 First St. S., in Willmar. Phone number is 320-222-4247.

Hindermann went to school for cosmetology at Ridgewater College in Willmar and previously worked at Essentials Hair Salon.

Macik serves on state council

WILLMAR -- Joan Macik, executive director of Heartland Community Action Agency Inc. in Willmar, has been elected to serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1 on the board of directors for the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits.

Heartland is a $5 million human services agency with a mission of eliminating poverty and advocating for low-income families. Heartland serves approximately 12,000 individuals and families in Kandiyohi, Meeker, McLeod and Renville counties.

Macik was a Head Start preschooler in 1964, the first year of its implementation. Macik later joined Head Start as a data entry clerk, and has advanced through various positions within Heartland, now serving as executive director.

In that position, she has facilitated involvement of her board in developing a strategic plan for the organization. Also, she is leading Heartland's Community Building Campaign, which will educate and partner with the communities it serves.

The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits is the statewide association of 2,000 nonprofit organizations. Albertson joins Marcus Construction

WILLMAR -- Marcus Construction Company of Prinsburg has hired Tyler Albertson to head the mechanical engineering department.

He is a 1998 graduate of North Dakota State University with a bachelor of science degree and has more than 10 years of experience in power generation and process engineering. He is a registered engineer in 32 states and affiliated with ASME, NSPE and NCEES Record.
