Farmfest and Dakotafest are canceled for 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Show producers IDEAg Group LLC, owned by the American Farm Bureau Federation, announced the cancellation of the two farm shows last week.
"We understand the impact this has on the ag community, but simply put, it is the right decision to make in these uncertain times," said Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall in a news release.
Farmfest in Redwood County, Minnesota, has served the agriculture community for 38 years, while Dakotafest in Mitchell, South Dakota, was planning to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year.
Elements of each show will be available to attendees online, most notably the Farmfest political forums.

"Providing people a virtual opportunity to learn about and participate in the issues that directly impact their farms, lives, and families is essential to us," said Melissa Sanders Carroll, executive director of IDEAg, in the news release.
Dates have been set for 2021, with Farmfest scheduled on Aug. 3-5 and Dakotafest on Aug. 17-19.
