MORGAN - Farmward Cooperative will be redeeming $3.4 million in patron equity, the board of directors announced.

The redemption was approved based on the cooperative's strong balance sheet and positive earnings in 2017. The move will also retire about 10 percent of the pre-merger patron equity of both Harvest Land Cooperative and Co-op Country Farmers Elevator patrons.

The equity checks should be available at the annual meeting on Dec. 20. Checks will be mailed on Dec. 21 if not collected at the meeting.
