GlenOaks expands services offered at Village Apartments in New London

 NEW LONDON - Grace Living Community of GlenOaks of New London launched an expansion of services to the Village Apartments Feb. 1.
 
 A nurse and staff are now available whenever needed, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It was also decided to expand dining services to include an evening meal if desired by tenants.
 
 “Statistics have proven that people who have their medications managed and receive proper nutrition are less likely to need to be hospitalized and have less frequent visits to their physician as well,’’ said April Anderson, director of nursing and program consultant.
 
 Campus administrator Jim Laine said having a campus with independent apartments, assisted living and a skilled nursing facility allows residents to receive services at all levels of care as necessary.
 
 “Familiarity of staff and surroundings promotes quicker recoveries, return to their apartments, and creates an atmosphere which ensures we are collaboratively promoting their independence in their place of choice,’’ said Laine.
 
 Deb Rogers has taken over the new role as director of resident services. Karen Bents is nursing manager.
