WILLMAR — Jennie-O Turkey Store, based in Willmar, received two Awards of Honor from the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council for its safety and health programs at two of its processing facilities.
The further processing plant in Montevideo and the turkey processing plant in Faribault were both awarded honor awards.
Awards were based on injury statistics over three years and an evaluation of written applications by academia and other safety experts.
The council recognized 230 chicken and turkey facilities across the nation during its 2019 National Safety Conference for the Poultry Industry in Destin, Florida.
