LITCHFIELD - Marc Vaillancourt has been hired as the new executive director of the Meeker Memorial Foundation of Meeker Memorial Hospital.

Vaillancourt, a certified fundraising executive, has been active in not-for-profit leadership and fundraising for more than 12 years. For the last seven years, he worked as a major gifts officer at two large health care systems in St. Cloud and Minneapolis where he has helped secure more than $7.5 million in philanthropic resources.

The Meeker Memorial Foundation, established in 2005 as the philanthropic arm of Meeker Memorial Hospital, is dedicated to improving the health of the community. Funds raised have been directed to support the hospital's major expansion in 2009 and the expansion of key service lines including cardiac rehab and oncology.

Community members have an opportunity to meet Vaillancourt in person at a "meet and greet" event Nov. 1 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. at Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
