HUTCHINSON -- Alison Werder received loan assistance from Southwest Initiative Foundation's Microenterprise Loan Program to expand her scarf and accessories home party and web-based business, Ali J. Boutique, into a retail shop in downtown New London.
Ali J. Boutique is located at 15 Main St. S. and opened July 15. Werder has owned and operated her business for more than three years, and sales have grown to the point that the business needed a distribution center for the online and home party sales business.
Besides scarves, jewelry, purses and other accessories, Werder will carry a tall women's section of clothing and unique gift items. Alison will also host girls' and boys' costume birthday parties. Ali J. Boutique will have an old-fashioned candy shop area in the store.
Ali J. Boutique is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The business can be reached at 320-894-7752, alij@alijboutique.com or www.alijboutique.com .
"Ali J. Boutique is a great addition to the unique retail shopping area of downtown New London," said Berny Berger, foundation program coordinator.
