NEW LONDON -- Recently returned to Minnesota, artist and art gallery owner Arthur Norby and his wife, Kathryn Spangler, have opened Norby Gallery at their home, 204 Birch St. S.E., New London.
Best known for having created the Minnesota Korean War Memorial on the Minnesota Capitol Grounds, as well as numerous other public sculptures, Norby has owned art galleries for more than 30 years.
Norby opened his first art gallery in 1979 in Willmar and has operated eight galleries in Minnesota, Washington and Arizona. The Norby Gallery has represented more than 150 artists nationwide since 1979.
In New London, the Norby Gallery will represent a limited number of artists and will offer a variety of quality paintings and sculpture for collectors as well as art consulting for collectors, architects and artists.
Also located in their home are Norby's art studio and sculpture garden, which are open free to the public May through October.
