AEHM LLC has approached the city of Willmar to approve a tax abatement. The financial assistance would help make it possible for the company, which owns the Suite Livn' apartment buildings in Willmar, to construct a new 24-unit building at the Sunwood Apartment Complex near Ridgewater College.

JH LLC plans to start construction this spring of the first building in its planned four-building apartment complex in Willmar. The Willmar City Council approved tax increment finacing for the project at Monday's council meeting. The complex will be located on 15 acres on Kandiyohi County Road 5, north of Seventh Avenue Northwest.

Suite Liv'n has purchased Sunwood Apartments in Willmar. Renovation work has already begun on one of the buildings located on 15th Avenue Northwest, near Ridgewater College. Suite Liv'n has received a conditional use permit from the city of Willmar to construct a new 24-unit building behind the two current buildings.

The city of Willmar officially completed a purchase agreement with a development company for land between Trott Avenue and Willmar Avenue Southwest on the west side of Kandiyohi County Road 5 in Willmar. A package sorting and distribution facility is to be built by a logistics company that so far has not been named publicly.

The General Services Administration announced this summer it is looking to offload the Duluth Harbor South Breakwater lighthouse. The Willmar City Council agreed this week to submit a letter of interest to move the lighthouse to their landlocked burg in west-central Minnesota.

Most of the the former Clarkfield school buildings are water-damaged and filled with mold and have crumbling ceilings and walls. Yellow Medicine County and the city of Clarkfield are considering a $1.4 million demolition project.
