Ridgewater College partners for job training

HUTCHINSON - Ridgewater College and Alexandria Technical & Community College will partner with American Time of Dassel to provide more than 150 hours of training to about 80 employees over the next few months, thanks to a new $46,000 Minnesota Job Skills Partnership grant.
American Time is a market leader in integrated time solutions for education, health care, government and manufacturing organizations. Their products include synchronized wireless and wired clock systems (which can control bells, lights, wired clocks and alarm systems), replacement clock systems for multiple major brands of clocks and IP network clocks and wall clocks.
The grant will address realigning the work environment and culture to prepare employees for new work teams, processes and technology, said Gary Foster, Ridgewater customized training manufacturing coordinator.
Also, American Time will continue implementing lean manufacturing principles. The primary change is in how employees will do the work. The business model is changing from individual task-oriented jobs to multiple task-oriented jobs in a team of teams environment.
