SPICER — Massive blocks of ice harvested from Green Lake were being assembled to form a winter ice castle Sunday on Saulsbury Beach as part of Spicer's 35th annual Winterfest activities. The ice castle lighting ceremony, which includes fireworks, takes place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Events like kicksledding, a bonfire on the beach, frozen 5K walk/run, food, music and dance take place throughout the day and other Winterfest events, like the Polar Plunge, ice-fishing tournament, and pond hockey are scheduled through mid-February.
