West central Minn. Realtors report increase in sales in February

WILLMAR - The West Central Association of Realtors, which covers 21 counties of west central Minnesota, said there was a 50.6 percent increase in closed sales in February 2016 over February 2015. There were 125 closed sales last month.
Another positive though was the length of time a house stays on the market. In February 2015 the average was 156 days. This past month it was down to 112 days on the market.
At the end of February 2016 there were 185 new house listings, down from 197 in February 2015. Total homes for sale was 1,112 in February, down from 1,383 this time last year.
The median sale price in February 2016 was $101,000, down from $107,500 in February 2015. The average sale price was $116,912 in 2016, down from $129,677 in 2015.
However, the median sale price in Willmar went up last month, to $116,000. In 2015 it was $97,000.
