Willmar-based swine educator recognized for achievement

Local Extension educator honored by National Association of County Agricultural Agents

WILLMAR — The National Association of County Agricultural Agents has recognized Sarah Schieck with the 2019 achievement award.

Schieck is a University of Minnesota Extension swine educator at the Mid-Central Research and Outreach Center in Willmar. The award recognizes excellence in the field of extension for members with fewer than 10 years of service and is presented to only 2 percent of extension educators in the state each year.

Schieck started with Extension in 2013 and has focused on Pork Quality Assurance and Transport Quality Assurance certification, PorkBridge and SowBridge distant education programs, biosecurity and Women in Ag Network.
