WILLMAR — The Minnesota Music Teachers Association recognized independent piano teacher Megan Gilles, of Willmar, when it conducted its annual convention June 9, according to a news release from the association.
The convention was conducted virtually this year due to COVID-19.
Gilles is completing her second two-year term on the association's board of directors. She served as the vice president of membership. There is a term limit of four consecutive years.
While serving on the board, she presented sessions yearly at the convention, introduced the studio patron membership for studios with more than one teacher, and helped to create a collegiate poster session for the annual convention.
She was instrumental in spearheading renewed efforts in the social media outreach of the association to its membership and the public.
