GRANITE FALLS — The Granite Falls Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a 100th Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, August 1 in downtown Granite Falls from 5 to 9:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Granite Falls Fire department will have fire trucks available for kids to explore.
There will be a bouncy house for kids to play in free of charge. Kiwanis popcorn and 1919 Root Beer will be for sale and all proceeds will go to benefit youth programs in the area.
Musical performances will be presented throughout the evening, beginning at 5 p.m. Mayor Dave Smiglewski will offer remarks at 6:15 p.m. and Les Berquist, of the Kiwanis, will offer a history of the popcorn stand.
A complimentary 100th Anniversary Cup will be served up with each purchase of 1919 Root Beer.
Commemorative T-shirts will be for sale and a historical exhibit will be displayed.
