Rice Health Foundation Gala

WILLMAR — The Rice Health Foundation will host its annual gala Nov. 8 at the Willmar Conference Center. A social hour and silent auction begin at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by dinner, dessert and a live auction. The gala theme this year is "Set Sail."

The gala is the main fundraiser each year for the Rice Health Foundation. Funds from this year's gala are earmarked for the expansion of cardiac care.

Turkey bingo

LAKE LILLIAN — Lake Lillian Civic and Commerce will have turkey bingo at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Community Center. Cost is $20 for entire evening. All proceeds will be donated to the Kandiyohi County and Renville County food shelves.

Benson Lions

BENSON — The Benson Lions will serve a brunch from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Hanny’s Bar and Grill (formerly VFW Club). Scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, potato rounds and beverages. Freewill donation.

Mike Rindfleisch

SVEA — A potato topper benefit for Mike Rindfleisch will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Svea Lutheran Church. Rindfleisch has been fighting lymphoma since 2014. He and his wife, Jodi, are independent painting contractors in the Willmar area. They have lived in Pennock for 25 years and have two children and five grandchildren. Freewill donation for potato topper meal, a bake sale and silent auction.

Poultry bingo

SPICER — The Spicer American Legion Auxiliary will have a poultry bingo from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Legion in Spicer. Turkeys, hams and special prizes for children.

Blue Star Mothers

WILLMAR — Blue Star Mothers Willmar Chapter 1 meets on the third Thursday of each month at the Willmar Army Reserve. The parents of military meet for support and to pack boxes to send to deployed troops. They are collecting snacks, hygiene products, paperback novels and notes to be included in the packages. Donation boxes are available at Heritage Bank and the Willmar Army Reserve. Habitat for Humanity

WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota ReStore is accepting donations of building materials, large appliances, furniture and more. All donations must be approved by staff before acceptance. Donations can be brought to 2424 First Street South in Willmar between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. E-quip Africa

WILLMAR — E-quip Africa in Willmar is accepting newer, smaller computers such as laptops and slim or compact desktops which are easier to ship. All computers need their original power supplies, cords, keyboards and mice and be in good working condition. They need to be Windows machines running Windows 7, 8.1 or 10.
