Nordic ski boosters
WILLMAR — The Willmar Nordic ski boosters will serve a chili and soup dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Willmar Community Center. Tickets available at the door are $8 for adults, $5 for students and $20 for a family. Proceeds will be used for public cross country ski trails in Willmar, and to support the high school Nordic ski team.
MACCRAY 2180 Foundation
CLARA CITY — The MACCRAY 2180 Foundation will serve a pasta meal fundraiser from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the MACCRAY High School cafeteria. Freewill donation.
Christmas 2022
Community toy swap: Dec. 17, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Willmar. Come swap or pick out some free used toys just in time for the holidays. Used toys in good condition may be donated in the box outside the church. For more information, call Sarah at 208-866-1944 .
Willmar toy drive: Through Dec. 23, new unwrapped toys can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays in the big box under the canopy at the Willmar Community Center for youth in Kandiyohi County.

Otto Bremer Trust
WILLMAR — The Otto Bremer Trust has awarded grants totaling $9,265,639 in grants and program-related investments as part of its most recent grant-making cycle. Area groups receiving grants include:
Litchfield Area Mentorship Program — Kinship: $20,000 for general operations to provide community and school-based youth mentoring programs serving Meeker County residents.
Morris Health Services: $30,000 for expansion of the Morris Area Child Care Center.
Willmar Area Community Foundation
WILLMAR — The Willmar Area Community Foundation has opened its annual grant round to fund programs that focus on three different areas this year: addressing the opportunity gap for youth, increasing community connections and welcoming diverse populations, and supporting productive aging.
Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, school or government entity that serve residents of Kandiyohi County. For additional information and the online application, visit www.communitygiving.org/grants and select “WACF Community Impact Grant Round.” The deadline is Jan. 15.
This past year, the Willmar Area Community Foundation invested $188,000 through the Community Impact Grant Round. This included investments to launch the Elevate 360 employment program through the Bethesda Foundation, supporting the Summer Fun Run series through Miles4Mentors, assisting MNyou Mobile Mini-Market to educate and provide fresh produce to communities experiencing food insecurity and supporting the community mural project at Woodland Centers.
Kandiyohi County Food Shelf
WILLMAR — The Kandiyohi County Food Shelf helps people living in Kandiyohi County who are in need of food assistance. It is located at 624 Pacific Ave. S.W. in Willmar.
Curbside pickup: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by the stop sign at the front door and call 320-235-2641 .

In-person pickup: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Park across the street or in the parking lot and bring your own bags/boxes.
NAPS distribution: Fourth Tuesday of each month, 1 to 2 p.m., Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors for individuals 60 years of age and older that qualify by income with Second Harvest Heartland. Call 800-365-0270 to sign up.
Habitat for Humanity
WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota ReStore accepts donations of appliances, furniture, cabinetry, building materials and more. All donations must be approved by staff before acceptance. Donations can be brought to 4722 Highway 71 N.E., north of Willmar, between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.
