KCEO Gala
WILLMAR — The KCEO Gala will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the Willmar Conference Center. KCEO stands for Kandiyohi Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities and is a program for high school students to learn from local business owners what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. There will be entertainment by Ava Hanson, silent auction items and a turkey dinner at the “Blast from the Past" 1980s-themed event. Tickets are $85 and available online at bit.ly/KCEO22 .
Chili supper
SPICER — The annual Early Childhood chili supper will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Prairie Meadows School in Spicer. Chili bar, French bread, hot dogs, corn, apple, beverages and dessert. Freewill donation with suggested amount of $5 per person. Sponsored by the New London-Spicer Early Childhood Parent Advisory Board with all the proceeds for scholarships and transportation costs to attend classes.
Brew Ha Ha 6.0
WILLMAR — The United Way of West Central Minnesota and Empower: Women United present Brew Ha Ha 6.0 at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at the Barn Theatre in Willmar to benefit local programs including the Imagination Library program. Beer, cider and wine sampling, appetizers and a show by comedian John DeBoer. Tickets are $35 online at liveunitedwcm.org or by calling the United Way office.
United Community Action Partnership
WILLMAR — The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development announced the recipients of Getting to Work two-year grants. A total of $475,000 will help six organizations establish or operate programs to provide, repair, or maintain motor vehicles that assist eligible people in obtaining or maintaining employment.
United Community Action Partnership received $75,000 for its motor vehicle program. The agency serves McLeod, Meeker, Kandiyohi, Renville, Redwood, Lincoln, Lyon, Jackson, Cottonwood, Nobles, Rock, and Murray counties.
Habitat for Humanity
WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota ReStore accepts donations of building materials, large appliances, furniture and more. All donations must be approved by staff before acceptance. Donations can be brought to 2424 First Street South in Willmar between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.
