St. Johns Roadrunners
WILLMAR — The St. Johns Roadrunners 4-H Club will be operating the Cash Wise Foods brat stand in Willmar from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 10-11. The funds raised will be used to support Community Pride activities including the seven Little Free Libraries the club stewards weekly in the Willmar community.
Link Rib Fest
NEW LONDON — The eighth annual “Smokin' for The Link" Rib Fest fundraiser will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 11, in New London's city parking lot across from the American Legion. Tickets are $25 for five samples and one piece of pie. VIP tickets (designed for two people) are $100 and include rib samples from each rib team, two pieces of pie and two beverages.
Clara City Lions
CLARA CITY — The Clara City Lions Club will be having a brats stand from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Almich's Market in Clara City. Menu may vary between hamburgers, brats and hotdogs, with chips and water. Freewill donation.
Support Our Troops
ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs announced the recipients of the competitive Support Our Troops license plate fund grant program. Prairie Five Community Action Council Inc. received a $80,000 grant to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van and provide transportation to Minnesota veterans in the five-county region of Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift and Yellow Medicine.
The license plate fund grant program offers a competitive grant process which allows organizations to apply for funding. These grants, ranging from $1,000 to $100,000, are focused on supporting and improving the lives of veterans and their families.
