Willmar Stingers/Thrivent

WILLMAR — The Willmar Stingers and the Thrivent River Lakes Financial Group raised $10,410 for the Kandiyohi County Food Shelf through a jersey auction. The annual Jerseys Off Our Backs Auction has been a tradition at Bill Taunton Stadium since the inaugural season. This partnership with Thrivent and the Stingers has raised more than $77,000 for the Food Shelf since 2010.

Kandiyohi County Food Shelf

WILLMAR — The Kandiyohi County Food Shelf helps people living in Kandiyohi County that are in need of food assistance. They are located at 624 Pacific Ave. S.W. in Willmar. The food shelf will be closed Friday, Oct. 14.

Free produce distribution: Oct. 11, starting at noon, Willmar Civic Center parking lot. Up to five different varieties of Minnesota grown produce will be distributed in this free, drive-through event open to all households in need. Please make room in your trunk. A frozen meal will be delivered to those age 60 or younger.

Curbside pickup: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by the stop sign at the front door and call 320-235-2641 .

In-person pickup: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Park across the street or in the parking lot and bring your own bags/boxes.

NAPS distribution: Fourth Tuesday of each month, 1 to 2 p.m., Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors for individuals 60 years of age and older that qualify by income with Second Harvest Heartland. Call 800-365-0270 to sign up.
