Special Olympics

WILLMAR — A burger basket fundraiser will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Willmar Eagles Club. Choice of gourmet burger and fries for $7:50. Proceeds benefit the local Kandiyohi County Independent Special Olympics team.

Free paper shredding

WILLMAR — The annual paper shredding event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 24, at Kensington Bank, 2800 First St. S. in Willmar. The cost to have documents shredded is a donation to the Willmar Area Food Shelf..

Willmar Senior Club

WILLMAR — The Willmar Area Senior Club annual bazaar will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Willmar Community Center. Silent auction, bake sale, Grannie's attic, vendors and lunch will be served.

Artists in the Upper Minnesota River Valley are hosting the 18th annual arts crawl known as the Meander, featuring 41 artists throughout the five-county region.

WILLMAR — General Electric Aviation has donated nearly $72,000 in equipment and inspection standards to the Nondestructive Testing Technology program at Ridgewater College. The donation included ultrasonic and eddy current inspection equipment, a turbine blade inspection kit with supporting blades, and ultrasonic calibration blocks.

Kandiyohi County Food Shelf

WILLMAR — The Kandiyohi County Food Shelf helps people living in Kandiyohi County who are in need of food assistance. It is located at 624 Pacific Ave. S.W. in Willmar.

Curbside pickup: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by the stop sign at the front door and call 320-235-2641 .

In-person pickup: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Park across the street or in the parking lot and bring your own bags/boxes.

NAPS distribution: Fourth Tuesday of each month, 1 to 2 p.m., Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors for individuals 60 years of age and older that qualify by income with Second Harvest Heartland. Call 800-365-0270 to sign up.
