Habitat for Humanity
WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota ReStore accepts donations of building materials, large appliances, furniture and more. All donations must be approved by staff before acceptance. Donations can be brought to 2424 First Street South in Willmar between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. Free paper shredding
WILLMAR — The annual paper shredding event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 25, at Kensington Bank, 2800 First St. S. in Willmar. The cost to have documents shredded is a donation to the Willmar Area Food Shelf.

WILLMAR — A Special Olympics burger basket fundraiser will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the Willmar Eagles Club. Choice of gourmet burger and fries for $7.50. All proceeds will benefit the Kandiyohi County independent Special Olympics team.
Willmar Senior Club
WILLMAR — The Willmar Area Senior Club will have its bazaar from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Willmar Community Center. Silent auction items, bake sale, craft tables, grannie’s attic and lunch will be served.
Wild Spirit Sanctuary
RAYMOND — Wild Spirit Sanctuary is conducting a shoe drive through Oct. 22 to raise funds to build enclosures for wildlife rehabilitation and non releasable captive wildlife in Granite Falls. The shoes will be sold to Funds2Orgs based on the total weight of the shoes collected. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used or new shoes at 101 Babcock Ave. in Raymond.
New London-Spicer Area Fund
NEW LONDON — The New London-Spicer Area Fund has opened its grant round to fund programs for projects that fit within the categories of arts, healthy communities and lifestyles, environment and large-scale and sustainable initiatives. Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, school or government entity which serves the 12 northern townships of Kandiyohi County: Arctander, Burbank, Colfax, Dovre, Green Lake, Harrison, Irving, Lake Andrew, Mamre, New London, Norway Lake and Roseville. The county-level soybean checkoff programs in Kandiyohi, Chippewa, Renville, Swift, Yellow Medicine, Lac qui Parle and Pope counties each donated a full set of Goodyear soy-based Eagle Enforcer all-weather tires — designed specifically for first responder vehicles traversing rugged climates like Minnesota’s — to their county sheriff’s offices. It was part of a “Driving Soy” campaign by the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council and its 44 organized counties.
