Willmar Lions

WILLMAR — The Willmar Lions annual Pancake Day will be from 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Willmar Community Center. All you can eat Chris Cakes, sausage and beverages. Adult tickets are $9, ages 12 and under are $5, carry-outs available.

Litchfield Opera House

LITCHFIELD — A soup or chili feed fundraiser will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Litchfield Opera House. The band Group Decision will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. The 10-piece professional band plays music from the 1940s to today, swing, big band, rock, blues and Latin.

Renville County West

RENVILLE — The RCW High School Spain travel group will have a Dad’s Belgian Waffle feed from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Sept. 12, at the Renville Community Center to raise money for a trip to Spain next year. All you can eat waffles, sausages and beverages. Adult tickets are $8, ages 6-12 are $5, 5 and under eat free. Carry-outs available.

Charity walk/ride/bike

Charity events such as walkathons, runs, motorcycle rides and bicycle rides in the area are listed here, including event details, where it will be held, how to register and fundraising events associated with it.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s: Sept. 18, 9 a.m., Robbins Island, Willmar. Check-in and registration 9 a.m., opening ceremony at 10 a.m. with the walk to follow. Participants can walk in their neighborhood or via the official mobile app or in-person following provided COVID-19 safety protocols. Register online at act.alz.org/westcentral .

Free paper shredding

WILLMAR — The annual paper shredding event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 25, at Kensington Bank, 2800 First St. S. in Willmar. The cost to have documents shredded is a donation to the Willmar Area Food Shelf.

Wild Spirit Sanctuary

RAYMOND — Wild Spirit Sanctuary is conducting a shoe drive through Oct. 22 to raise funds to build enclosures for wildlife rehabilitation and non releasable captive wildlife in Granite Falls. The shoes will be sold to Funds2Orgs based on the total weight of the shoes collected. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used or new shoes at 101 Babcock Ave. in Raymond.

New London-Spicer Area Fund

NEW LONDON — The New London-Spicer Area Fund has opened its grant round to fund programs for projects that fit within the categories of arts, healthy communities and lifestyles, environment and large-scale and sustainable initiatives. Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, school or government entity which serves the 12 northern townships of Kandiyohi County: Arctander, Burbank, Colfax, Dovre, Green Lake, Harrison, Irving, Lake Andrew, Mamre, New London, Norway Lake and Roseville. Habitat for Humanity

WILLMAR — Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota ReStore accepts donations of building materials, large appliances, furniture and more. All donations must be approved by staff before acceptance. Donations can be brought to 2424 First Street South in Willmar between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.
